Todays Papers Spalletti We Want Italy Again

Today’s Papers – Spalletti, we want Italy again!

For years, England has given birth to some of the most important coaches around: from Fabio Capello to Antonio Conte, from Claudio Ranieri to Roberto Mancini

Romelu Lukaku scored in his first Serie A game back at Inter as the defending champions began their title defence with a 2-1 home win over Lecce on Saturday.

Lukaku headed home a Hakan Calhanoglu cross in the second half to secure the points for Inter after Lecce had equalised through Assan Ceesay following Federico Dimarco’s opener.

Inter went into this game after a turbulent summer which saw the departures of coach Antonio Conte and star striker Romelu Lukaku, along with financial difficulties which have forced them to sell Achraf Hakimi and Nicolo Barella.

Despite these setbacks, Inter have managed to bring back Lukaku this summer and this will come as a big boost to their title hopes.

The victory moved Inter to the top of the table on goal difference, above Roma and Napoli.

Elsewhere:

  • Juventus laboured to a 1-0 win over newly promoted Empoli.
  • Fiorentina beat Torino 2-1.
  • Lazio drew 2-2 with Spezia.
  • Atalanta left it late to beat Sampdoria 1-0.

With the transfer window still open until the end of the month, more movement is expected in the coming weeks.
