Brighton Are Ferguson And Estupinan Fit For Crawley

Richard Parkes: Brighton Take Carabao Cup 'Very Seriously'

Tuesday's Second Round Clash Against Crawley Town Looms

Parkes: 'We Want to Win This Competition'

Brighton & Hove Albion will take the Carabao Cup "very seriously" when they host Crawley Town in the second round on Tuesday, according to assistant manager Richard Parkes.

The Seagulls have a strong recent record in the competition, reaching the semi-finals in 2020/21 and the quarter-finals last season.

And Parkes is keen to see Brighton go all the way this time around, saying: "We want to win this competition. We've shown in the past that we're capable of going far in it, and we're confident that we can do it again this year."

Brighton will be without a number of first-team players for the game against Crawley, but Parkes is confident that the squad has enough depth to cope.

"We've got a strong squad, and we're confident that whoever plays will do a good job," he said. "We're excited about the game, and we're looking forward to getting started."

Crawley Town Underdog But Confident

Crawley Town will be the underdogs against Brighton, but manager Matthew Etherington is confident that his team can cause an upset.

"We know that Brighton are a good team, but we're not afraid of them," he said. "We've got a good group of players, and we're confident that we can give them a game."

Crawley Town have already beaten one Premier League team in this season's Carabao Cup, knocking out Fulham in the first round.

And Etherington believes that his team can do the same against Brighton.

"We've shown that we can compete with Premier League teams," he said. "We're confident that we can do it again on Tuesday."
