Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP Award

The Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, formerly known as the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) award given to the player deemed to have the greatest impact in the NBA Finals.

The award was established in 1969, and was named after Bill Russell, the Boston Celtics player who won eleven NBA championships in thirteen seasons. Russell was a five-time NBA Finals MVP, and is widely considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

The award is voted on by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. The winner is announced at the conclusion of the NBA Finals.
